Author of the UDIReport blog – way to go man! It’s great to see you still along on your journey! Too bad we were just crossing paths, it would have been nice as well to talk more. I heard from other bikers a short time after you left that they met up with you. They said that one of the wheels on your trailer had a flat but you were still riding along. I’m glad to see you fulfilling your dreams and I hope to get in touch on my swing back around. Maybe we will have more time on your second journey as I fulfill my current one.

We had some insane times my friend, we laughed so hard at Craig that we cried and cried. I must say my favorite memory is crying in the drivers seat of the mustang because I was laughing so hard at the universe for allowing a certain song to play right on cue. No, Craig and I do not rehearse this stuff, it just happens and its hilarious when it does. I enjoyed that you hung out with us for the laughs. It was nice that others did as well. However, I’m pretty sure after awhile we scared the life out of them. Glad to see you stuck around until the end!

We had some good times painting in the parks and driving around. I’m sure we both have hope that things work out for Kristin, she was sure fun to have around! I think we had been to every organic store in Tucson, but it was nice to get out and talk endlessly with you. I hope you find out what you want in life and enjoy it to the fullest. Thank you so much for the black salt!

I have never had so much fun at a McDonald’s at 3am. First off, McDonald’s has an excellent breakfast menu – which just enhances the reality show that takes place immediately after. Craig and I often talk about writing a book, about the things that we observe in hostels – but you are right in that you can have a fantastic series on the happenings of McDonald’s in Waikiki alone. I come for the pure shock value, but you have added just that right amount to make it all come together beautifully. You will forever be my favorite McDonald’s security officer. Good luck to you and your 14 children!
JT
Obviously there is some confusion as to who the real JT is – but no matter, I will give you this one! As long as we get it straight with Scott, which JT actually brought the blankets and found the shelter during the tsunami – oh yeah, and who remembered to ask about the Tequila you so gracefully brought along! I will never forget that you introduced me to kava and hiked to Rainbow Falls with me – you know the ones that were “around the corner”? We played with the sun in the Zen garden, reminded me to take Pele and really, you were there for me in the most genuine way – I honestly cherish you and our short time together. I can’t wait to return at the end of the year to see you again – but this time, no natural disasters of impending doom?
Thomas
Too short a time we had – having a wonderful conversation in the bar while JT worked. Having an even better conversation on the lawn right before I left the big island – I will be back and you better be there! Thank you for pushing me to honor Pele and I will do just that. Please take care of JT and enjoy being the “janitor” of your life – it’s all fun and games until we have to say goodbye! And yes, we should have just stayed in the Zen garden like you originally suggested and we ended up back in anyhow. Mahalo!
Craig
We slept together for nearly two weeks before we realized how awesome each other is. My favorite bunk mate of all time! You surprised me like no one else! You and I have shared so many stories that most people think we made up. At least we can call and verify to each other that they DID in fact happen. Peruvian princesses, our bunk mates catching and eating endangered fish, climbing Diamond Head in flip flops and me in a gown, turtles, cliffs, getting trapped out on the dry lava beds with no flashlight, chasing me across islands, mustang’s roof going up and down, up and down as the rain starts and stops, endless McDonald’s shakes, the “baby” that is the camera, me and my stalkers, nights on the lanai, hiding from the rain – feeding me to bring the sun back out. Oh so much more and more to come! India in July – I’ll see you in the ‘stang and you better be sure I’ll have the shakes!
Hilo Bay Hostel Staff
I would love for you all to be part of Ellipsis – you have all been so wonderful and run the best hostel I have ever stayed in. I think hands down, there may not be a better one. Terry told me that upon arrival and I was a bit skeptical until about an hour later when I felt that it was true. I don’t regret coming there and will see you all upon my return. Each one of you have been a positive influence on my journey and I loved every moment of being there. Your birds are amazing – especially the yellow one (with the stripper name) that gets ‘friendly’ with the barbell and the others in the big cage who whistle at all the girls who sit next to them. Pure entertainment!
Brendan
I’m sure we can argue who exactly inspired who the most, but it doesn’t matter, for we both well understand that things are always changing, nothing lasts forever, and things happen for a reason – when you know how to interpret existence in the proper manner. There is no need to write anything for Brendan, because I have heard from more than a few that he has countless mouths already carrying his words. More than a few have mentioned how inspiring he is and I am more than happy to confirm this here on Void. Although this is not as elaborate as it should be, I hope it shows that people do in fact see what he puts out into the world – and in this, the hope that he sees it himself. When that light flickers, I do it for you my friend.
Chris
Called a “musical genius” by more than a few people, he has kept me quite entertained during my time on the west coast. Through him I have met several very talented musicians and many wonderful people who have me craving a return to San Francisco. We shared a lot of experiences, a lot of stories, and a lot of laughs. So many people I have come to know there but Chris seems to be the one to bring it all together. Thank you for an excellent time – I shall return rather soon for some more wonderful tunes at 4am and fun days in the Mission.

We met on the plane to San Francisco and talked for hours about Void and the book that she has published. We realized that the book she wrote and the second one she will be writing go along the lines of how I organized my life and this trip. She teaches people how to position their financial lives to do what they feel, do what they love, and most of all, to live life and enjoy your time while you have it. Thank you so much for continuing to promote the passion so many people lock inside! And thank you a million times over for the blog post about Void!
Kyle
My first ever Aussie friend – how much art we saw is unknown! Those few days together were wonderful to start off the San Francisco experience with. Having miso soup while enjoying the Japanese Tea Garden at Golden Gate Park, traveling to Lombard street, walking down Haight-Asbury, watching the sky of the day turn into night in Buena Vista Park… It was too short my friend, but hopefully we shall meet up in London and Sydney as is the tentative plan.
Chandan
The funniest guy I know here in San Francisco. He has kept me well entertained the whole time – being the first up to make pancakes every morning (which are horrible by the way) to sleeping in the library, to running on shopping expeditions, to embarrassing me at pool, to eating the best Indian food ever, we have certainly done a lot! I look forward to us bashing around New Delhi, India when I arrive.
