I was honestly too sick to even speak, it wasn’t that I couldn’t understand you! I had a lot of fun with you visiting the castles in Prague and walking around – going to Globe for the wifi and food. Once I found Halls for my throat, it was like my life changed! I’m so sorry that you missed your train and had to stay and extra night but it was so nice to chat with you about your stay in Germany. Thanks for the pictures you snapped of me and showing me how to take the train, although I still can’t bring myself to riding it for free, even if they never check your ticket in Europe. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your travels!

Well if it weren’t for Ben, we would never have met. If it weren’t for you and Ben not finding the café in the park (that was obviously at the beginning of the park) we would never have had such wonderful times! We made a great team – excellent photo equipment between the two of us, you with your knowledge of how to work it all and me with my creative composition. How many times did we get on the ground to take some shots? I will never forget the amazing time we had at Montjuïc and how we always met every day at the Arc de Triomf – that is our landmark, you know! There was nothing better then hanging out along the Mediterranean, trying hard not to stare at all the naked people who had self-declared it a nudist beach. I cannot wait to return so we can go on more adventures as I know there are many other places we must go!

Gary & Achim

You two were a riot. I must say that yes Achim, you are right, we all gravitated toward each other because we saw something of ourselves in relation – that we are pretty much all crazy in one way or another and I believe this is why I think most friends generally stick together… because we are all on par with each others craziness, or in the least close enough. Even though these friendships may be short lived, they always let us identify things within the self that we never really understood before. Even if we can’t put it into words right away, the image is created that we can in fact relate, however far from similar in the day to day lives we live. I will never forget the laughs that we had together, how we all pretty much lived on falafel sandwiches and Turkish pizza, and the fact that no, tampons are not ear plugs!

A nice novelty park with nice company – you said it best! Very happy that we ended up roommate and had a lovely time! It was exceptional to roam around this park and chill on the rides with you. Just remember, no matter where you are there is always time for an ice cream! With rainbow sprinkles of course – plain chocolate is simply boring. But boring we were not – I hope you made it to Oslo alright and that you found accommodations. I don’t always like to live booked well in advance but some things should be kept mindful. Take care and happy travels my Aussie friend!

I laughed so hard on the inside at your attempt to explain scientific fact to the strictly religious girl. I agree that she was very interested and was willing to learn but you need due to remember that only one may learn things of interest on their own, and only one may understand and accept that logic. Although we all have the right to know the knowledge that is needed, we all should not burden ourselves with frustration over teaching others. Give them the tools to learn themselves and if they really are truly interested they will indeed learn. You have a mind of wander in you, and just like you I am searching for truth, but more often than not, when I have to choose between truth and beauty, I often choose beauty.

What can I say other then we didn’t have enough time to hang out! We hung out on your last day in Amsterdam, doing all the things you didn’t want to do alone. The best piece of advice I can give you is that we are ALL alone – and will always be alone in the world. From time to time the human body has company but the mind can only think and do things alone, so you best get used to that. Don’t miss out on things in life because you don’t have the human companion – it’s a silly reason to miss out on anything. And if you truly are in need of one for anything at all, you should do well to contact me for more often than not I would be right there at your side!

If I didn’t have to switch hostels for one night and you weren’t having trouble with the internet too, we would never have met. How close is that? I believe it was well planned – however unplanned it was. I really enjoyed hanging out in the park that night, the one I spent all that day in. I had even more fun with you while we visited the Anne Frank museum, hung out in Vondel Park and just roamed around Amsterdam for a few days and nights. I look forward to hopefully meeting you again at some point surfer dude! We should absolutely do Barcelona with monocles – good call!

I’ll never forget how we met in London – I went to go steal the empty couch parallel to the one you were sleeping on when you woke up with a start. I laughed and you smiled explaining you had no idea how long you had been sleeping there. We had a brief conversation before we both had to leave, only to find ourselves meeting up again in Amsterdam a few days later. I had a ton of fun with you and Zuke leading us nowhere, all over Amsterdam – oh those wonderful left turns! I’ll never forget what I saw and heard while walking through the red light district at night and how fun it was trying to meet up at a certain place and time. Although it always worked out, we never could quite meet at those specified times! I look forward to seeing if we do meet up again.

When I arrived in London I met you outside when I asked for directions. I was so surprised that you were too kind to get me on the Heathrow Express for free and in helping me find the right lines on the Tube to my hostel. I cannot thank you enough, for it would have been a long journey indeed! You did not have to go out of your way to help me but it was wonderful for Void’s sake that you did. After that quick ride and explanation of the Tube, I was able to get around pretty easily for the rest of my stay. There are such nice people in this world and I am fortunate enough to run into them time and time again.

Too much we have done – I think we have seen everything there is to see on the south side of Iceland. Thank you for gathering the crew to take our day long excursion seeing all the waterfalls and hot springs! Although it took us long enough to figure out how the trunk of the car works, that little thing did us well. Too bad we never got a chance to eat at “Just Food” – it was always closed when we would show up together! Maybe next time you can try their excellent “Just Breakfast” – or we can always settle, as usual, for the 24/7 store food! It was excellent trying to get food at midnight thinking “well, the sun is still up – I wonder why everything is closed…” And I can’t forget the most excellent tour we went on – playing around in the sulfur gas, eating shark (and whale – gasp!), and ending up relaxing in the Blue Lagoon with our Blue Lagoon Cocktails and ice cream. You my friend, will see me again, but this time in your great country of Australia. Oh and by the way, thanks for throwing me through a loop thinking you are Asian until you started speaking (it’s priceless, don’t ever be offended)!

You were all so much fun, squeezed into a tiny car, roaming around the south part of Iceland. After we collectively figured out how to open the trunk of the car, we made our way to see some beautiful sights! Special thanks to Brian in that we found a really good use for the 1 kronur (which is worth half a US cent) – to unscrew the camera mount! Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to capture some of the photos that mean so much. Even though we had hours hanging out in the Blue Lagoon together, it was a short time we had together. Hopefully we could all meet again some day!

My first contact with a native from Iceland – even before we arrived! It was so nice to chat with you on the plane about Iceland and what there is to see, why the tourists haven’t been visiting much in the past year and how interesting it is to imagine you are instead landing on the moon! Thank you so much for the lift into Reykjavik, it was a pleasant ride as more and more knowledge was absorbed from you. How funny to drive down the road that literally translated to “Lunatic Swim Soil Road.” You were so nice to stop by the pier so that I may see the Imagine Peace tower on Videy Island. Best of luck with your business and law practice!
