Void of Inspiration

What is smart? Is smart knowing a lot? If it is then should one be praised for knowing things? Or should they be praised for the continuing drive to know more things? In that, shouldn’t we all always want to know more things, the right things? If we all knew the right things, would there still be a meaning for smart?

There is always money for, there are always doctorates in, the learned foolery of research into what, for scholars, is the all-important problem: Who influenced whom to say what when? Even in this age of technology the verbal Humanities are honoured. The non-verbal Humanities, the arts of being directly aware of the given facts of our existencem are completely ignored.
