*sigh* Jersey Shore…

I received my new laptop today – Windows 7, dual core, widescreen, can’t go wrong! This will be the machine that keeps me moving – as well as my Netbook of course. It’s interesting how much money is needed to set yourself up to live out of a backpack… yet you might be even more surprised to know that it costs less than you think!

The start of the trip is pretty close now and there is still so much to do. The first three weeks are planned – all set. I will have to update the World page soon as it does not currently reflect it… not that is wasn’t planned to begin with… I pretty much just wanted to leave my home state of New Jersey as the transition into being so disconnected. This way, I get to visit a few more of my common passions in the area. Plus, the more popular *sigh* Jersey Shore scene! Yes, that is correct – I am your Jersey Shore! (I’m soooo Jersey Shore, aren’t I?!?!)

a Day to Dave and Dali

Feeling a bit better today, I met up with Dave, who I rarely see now that he is in law school. He was on the hunt for a wallet, as a Christmas present for his girlfriend and I was just looking for some practice with the new camera.

We met at the Time Warner building in Columbus Circle (since it is our old turf – we met in college) and to my great surprise, there was a Salvador Dali exhibit going on! After buying another science book, taking a ton of pictures of paintings and sculptures, we headed across town, via Central Park.

It was nice to walk from West to East through the park – I haven’t done that in quite some time! We visited the rock we used to sit on years ago, watched the ice skaters, spotted Spider Man, and listened to some music from aspiring entertainers.

I was determined to find something that will spark Dave’s interest, but alas, I failed to do so, as he failed to find the wallet. Not all for nothing however! I came away with a few good shots – mostly excited about the exhibit!

Pencil and document

Updated Project | Pencil and Project | Document. Finally I can really start working on these two! I’ll be getting a new drawing book soon so I can really put aside some time before the trip to get up new things.
