Destination R

Time for Void’s 21st flight from Jaipur to New Delhi and then Void’s 22nd flight to Mumbai. How exhausting this ride has been! So sad to part, once again, with my dear friend Craig, but it has to be so. Tomorrow, he will be returning to the United States and I will be continuing my journey east – well, south and then again east! My day job has been somewhat driving me crazy since I have returned from vacation, too much work and not enough hands on deck, so it looks like I may not be able to explore as much of Mumbai as I had hoped to. It is tough traveling alone, especially through India, so this may be a good time to rest up, get to some painting, and catch up on work – both in my ‘9-5’ job and on Void. Hopefully it will clear up enough for Vietnam on the 6th.

“Many are lucky in love. And many are unlucky.
Don’t worry about that.
You will fall in and out of love.
Love is unreliable.
It has many disguises that confuse people.
Get confused. Get deceived.
But don’t get cynical about love.
It takes its time to find you.
It searches the universe, before it gets to you.
And when its true face stares you in the eye,
hug it and make it your friend.
Because love is a lifelong companion.
Not every one is lucky to have it.”

Visa for me to Vietnam

Better late than never, I have finally gathered all the necessary information to obtain my Visa for Vietnam. Now all I have to do is bother the nice people at reception to print the approval letters for me and hop on the flight. But first, we count down to Mumbai for July 30th. A week and a half left in India!

But these are words, man! And you couldn’t put it into words.

We must not be so ready to fancy ourselves intentionally injured. It is very often nothing but our own vanity that deceives us.”

Fatehpur Sikri to Jaipur

Making our way through our own Golden Triangle tour, Craig and I took a car service from Agra to Jaipur. Along the way we stopped to explore Fatehpur Sikri. Here, you can visit the marble tomb of Shaikh Salim Chishti and make wishes as you tie a string to its intricately carved marble screens. When your wish comes true you are to travel back and untie the string – or if you are only visiting, give charity in the name of the Holy Man. So this is what we did. Although I do not have pictures within the tomb, I have pictures of the outside and surrounding buildings. Then, onward we traveled all the way to Jaipur.
