Happy as a Belgian in mud

Today Richard and I decided to head back to the mud pools – Layla and Nick had moved on yesterday so we brought along Arnaud and Herbert. Making our way through the bumpy roads we arrived back to our fun spot. This time I was determined to take more pictures and Arnaud with his mud monsters and cow adventures made for perfect shots! We again took a dip in the hot springs to wash off and headed back home to watch the sunset which we just missed. Although, the sky still made for some amazing pictures. We even saw the beach dog Holly who had accompanied us the day before on our beach walk.

German pirates – das booty!

Simply a fantastic day and rather exhausting! Rico, Layla, Richard, Nick and I went on our excursion into town, mucking around as we planned and then headed through the hills to the mud pools. This is where it became rather interesting as we all took a nice dip in the pool, collecting fresh mud to cover ourselves with, only to lay in the sun and dry out. We took a bunch of group photos and then headed to the showers, only to come out and take a nice dip in the hot spring nearby. After becoming extremely overheated we finished off our day with a lovely massage by some wonderful Fiji women. Not to forget however, that we stopped off for some local pizza before heading back for a long nap.

A what? A what???

Today, after waking up to even more kava, I sat around until sometime in the afternoon when I went with a fellow traveler – Nick – to the beach a few steps away. We had a grand time chatting and collecting sea shells. At night we all sat around the kava circle again, me playing my shells as other played their guitars. It was such fun to sing and chat away. We met a few others – Richard and Layla – and developed a rather interesting thought. If we ever won the lottery, it is for sure that we would all become German Pirates in a submarine and yell “Das Booty!” wherever we went, declaring war on rather small countries for fun. Right after that we had a rousing game of “What?” and set plans in motion for the morning to take a little excursion out and about to “muck around” downtown and then go play in the mud pools.
