The use of paint and photo to ‘frame’ the lamp is an inspired touch; it truly emphasized that the lamp is the center of this piece. Note that the corner of the wall seems to spring forth from the shade, as if to say “Look, I illuminate all around me, at least until I hit the ceiling and split off into other directions.” A stunning example of lampitudedness.
